- Annetta Bouwman, daughter of William and Hendrika (Boon) Bouwman, was born September 6, 1924 in Alvord, IA. She grew up in the Lester, IA area and received her education in country school. Annetta then worked as a waitress at ShriverÂ’s Tea Room in Sioux Falls and at Vans grocery store in Rock Rapids, IA.
Annetta was united in marriage with Vernon Wiese on February 5, 1952 in Doon, IA. The couple farmed near Ellsworth, MN until moving to Sioux Falls, SD in 1988.
Grateful for having shared her life are four children, Terry Wiese and his wife, Carmen, Spirit Lake, IA, and their children, Amy and Ryan, Sherry Baal and her husband, William, Brandon, SD, and their children, Heather and Jenna, Barbara Gertsema and her husband, Daniel, Overland Park, KS, and their children, Kayla and Daniel II, Carol Hausauer, Olathe, KS, and her children, Brett, Peter, Nicholas and Claire; 5 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Anna Tilstra, Sioux Falls, SD, Edith Hoogendoorn and her husband, Alvin, Sioux Falls, SD, Angela Faber, Inwood, IA; four brothers, Walter Bouwman and his wife, Joan, Artesia, CA, A. James Bouwman and his wife, Esther, Rock Valley, IA, William Bouwman and his wife, Carol, Rock Valley, IA, John Bouwman and his wife, Paula, Fredericksburg, TX; and many other relatives and friends.
Annetta was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, on December 17, 2007; her parents; her step-mother, Renetta Bouwman; two brothers, Edward Bouwman, Henry Bouwman; a sister, Martina Van Den Brink; and a son-in-law, James Hausauer.
