Together she and James helped many older residents live a more independent life through their ownership of the Platte Assisted Living.
Berniece was a woman of strong faith and member of the First Reformed Church in Platte; collected Precious Moments figurines; had a green thumb; enjoyed bowling; was a hard worker and a good wife and mother.
Berniece was preceded in death by: her parents, Martin and Jennie Koopal; a brother, John Koopal; her father-in-law, Harold Wesseling and a brother-in-law, Harlan Mesman.
