When he was a young man, Gayle was employed full time by the World Herald, but made his career with the United States Post Office for 34 years. Although for much of his life he enjoyed hunting, his passion was his lawn and garden. Forever learning new things, he took up square dancing in 2011 thanks to a longtime family friend. Gayle’s membership with his church during the past eight years yielded many friendships.
