Carroll was a true patriot. He lived this country. He was a Korean and Vietnam Vet.
He served as an Enlisted soldier then reenlisted as an officer and went on to OCS(Officer Candidate School) and graduated near the top of his class. He went on to receive his Master's Degree in Criminology and served 20 years in the Army finishing out as a Lt. Col. Provost Marshall, Ft. Huachuca, Arizona.
In his career he was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Legion of Merit, Joint Service Commendation Medal, United Nations Commendation Medal, Korean Service Medal, and National Defense Medal.
He served proudly and with distinction. Carroll had tremendous integrity, was afraid of no one, spoke the truth, and was revered by his five grandsons.
They were certain that Grandpa had single-handedly won the Korean War.
