After completing her education, she relocated to New York City where she was employed at a legal firm for several years. She united in marriage to Howard Blumberg on June 21, 1981 in New York. To this union a daughter, Amanda Jean Blumberg was born on June 3, 1986 who was the light of her life. In 1999 the marriage ended.
Grateful for having shared in Lorna's life: her daughter, Amanda Jean Blumberg of Bronx, NY; her father, James Wesseling of Parkston, SD; 2 sisters: Carmen (Randy) Assmus of Lime Springs, IA and Brenda (Richard) Hebrink of LaMont, IA; a brother, Mike (Paula) Wesseling of Fairfax, VA; great grandmother, Gertrude Wesseling of Sioux Falls, SD; a very special friend, Steven Olson of Lincoln, NE; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Lorna was preceded in death by: her mother, Berniece (Koopal) Wesseling; her grandparents, Jennie and Martin "Mert" Koopal; and grandfather, Harold Wesseling.
Lorna was a very kind, considerate and wonderful person with a big heart. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who met her.
